that´s mostly due to the nature of puppet rig animation. it could get refined to look much better, but it probably won´t be until the basic game is done and the creator starts working on refining the details
How did you learn to make games? This game is really well made and I've been curious about what goes into making a game like this for awhile. Did you need to take a C++ course?
one of the biggest parts of game dev is animation and asset creation. Things like sprites, props, actors, etc. Programming is a close second. But most programming can be done in any language as long as you understand fundamental concepts. For example in human languages knowing the word apple might be useless if you havent even seen a apple before.
When you press the tab button while having fun, the screen is showing animations, but you can hear the character still moving

z x c v should be your normal control buttons for confirm/attack/block/menu/jump ect

there is some flexibility with what goes where but this is pretty standard for this kind of game
ideally the player should not need to be moving his hands around the keyboard during play
if you really want to keep movement over on wasd and control buttons on hjkl then leave arrow keys unused and put struggle on a/d because it is really awkward to have to move my hand over to arrow keys in the middle of combat just to struggle lol.
1. maybe after I finish making the prologue chapter I'll redo the cosmetic system. The current system for customization is hard-coded to use a preset sprite for each part
2. most of the outfits will be a buyable item, as for the RPG systems like leveling, skill tree, and stats are a whole lot of new things I need to implement with the current code and it'll change the genre of the game a bit so maybe after I redo the cosmetic/customization system I'll do it or not at all
3. didn't think of this before a minigame to earn money or a reward would be nice
4. no idea how to make the game moddable at the moment, but I'm interested.
Can you do right mouse button as a attack button and left click as a defense. instead of K key make a space bar as a jump button. To interact use the z key as well to proceed/skip the dialog box.

For info if anyone is looking to try this, right now the game only has a couple of scenes and about 5 minutes worth of play. More like a tech-demo, really, than even pre-alpha.
Problem is that the first part talks about yellow barrels. If you count them all, even the dirty ones, it's 6, not 3. Seven is in a different area, not the sellers area.
I can see your point as it toke me a while to figure it out however the barrels were pretty easy to see which ones were the first code, making the code not so hard to see. The only one I got stuck on was the second one, I just went up from zero as I knew all the other codes so it wasn’t hard I just didn’t think it was in the right area, although the note does say it’s in the starting area so who knows -_😑_-
